Ransomware files recovery - R.J. Paragwal - 06-19-2024 I have a problem. I was attacked by the ransomware virus and I have a backup copy on an external hard disk. Can I recover the data or not because I am afraid that the external hard disk will become infected? Thank you. RE: Ransomware files recovery - Shorter_513 - 06-20-2024 Correct, you should remove the ransomware before plugging in fact anything into the infected computer. Ransomware can attack attached disks as well, encrypting their contents. To remove the ransomware, I recommend using GridinSoft Anti-Malware. It will get rid of the malware and secure the system against future attacks. Download it, run a Full Scan and press the "Clean Now" button to delete all the detected malicious items. After that, feel free to use the backup. |
