Ransomware files recovery - R.J. Paragwal - 06-19-2024

I have a problem. I was attacked by the ransomware virus and I have a backup copy on an external hard disk. Can I recover the data or not because I am afraid that the external hard disk will become infected? Thank you.

Correct, you should remove the ransomware before plugging in fact anything into the infected computer. Ransomware can attack attached disks as well, encrypting their contents.

To remove the ransomware, I recommend using GridinSoft Anti-Malware. It will get rid of the malware and secure the system against future attacks. Download it, run a Full Scan and press the "Clean Now" button to delete all the detected malicious items. After that, feel free to use the backup.
