Node.js crashes Chrome
#1
Hello, for the last couple of months, some strange things have been happening to my system. Some script runs through node.js crash Google Chrome and change the search engine. I accidentally noticed that it was a PDFFlex program, so I uninstalled it. But the problem persisted. I am a fairly experienced PC user, but here I am having trouble finding the cause of this system behavior.
I did what is usually recommended on forums - reinstalling Google Chrome and installing an antivirus solution, but it didn't find anything. I tried ad blockers and did a browser reset but it all didn't solve the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas on what direction to look to solve the problem? Maybe it makes sense to use a different antivirus/anti-malware software?

PDFFlex is an adware that disguises itself as a file converter tool, and handles its network communications through Node.js framework. The latter is a genuine thing, just in the wrong hands in this case. To fix the issue with Chrome, remove the PDFFlex with GridinSoft Anti-Malware. Manual removal may also work, but I cannot guarantee that this Node js module is not installed separately.

It worked! I am afraid of jinxing it, but I don't have these crashes and don't see the Node thing. Thank you!
